Always about school??

School may be not fun but I think it is very important in life. Chris's brother John always was an excellent student at school. He could never come home without straight "A's," but Chris was satisfied with "C's." John probably spent a lot of time on his homework but for Chris 30 minutes is enough time for homework. I usually spend maybe an hour during all my homework, depends on how much I have that night. I'm usually pretty good at finishing my homework and if I don't, I will try and do it that morning.
My attitude towards school is usually positive but sometimes negative. I'm a big procrastinator and that's when my attidtude get bad becuase it's very stressful. But I mean that's pretty much my fault. I love seeing my friends at school, the lunches are pretty good. If you have money, which I usually do everyday. The homework is not always easy but I still got to do it. My classes are pretty easy except Spanish, because I seriously don't get anything she if talking about. So confusing, but I still try my hardest. I do think success in my studies is a future predicator of success later on in life. I would never think or suggest of dropping out of highschool because highschool diplomas are really important. More jobs require that and you probably won't get the job without one, same with college. But education is still important because it opens the mind and expands it.

Your life can be taken in a matter of....

There was this recent incident a few days ago where there was a car accident and two died. They were in the car with four people and the two that died didn't have a seat belt on, and they were the back seat passengers. They tried to swerve past hitting a deer and crashed into a tree. The two that died were mother and daughter; 37 and 14. The mom was my brothers friends mom and the fourteen year old was a girl that I went to school with at Unity Point in 6th grade until she moved to Herrin. I never got close to her but we considered each other as friends.
It was unbelievable. It just couldn't get transferred in my brain and mind that they were actually gone and couldn't come back. Just writing this makes me sad, thinking about all their family and friends who loved and cared for them. How hard it must be for them. The mom was a single parent and she left her sons behind. Some people just think that you have to be super old to die, but that's wrong. Your life can be taken in a matter of seconds. Any day, anytime, and anywhere. It's sad to think but everyone is going to have to go through it; young or old.

Bawlbaby

I've always been very emotional as a child. I've overcome that a little but its still there. But I wasn't like Chris crying over every single thing that didn't go his way. He cried when his team didn't win and a whole of little minor things that didn't need to be cried over. When his brother broke his things.
Now looking back over my past and my tears do seem silly. Even my sister who is three years younger than me, she always said that I was such a cry baby when I was younger. She was always tougher than me, she was the main one that made me cry. When we got into fights she would talk and talk and talk then she would start hitting me. Well my mom said not to hit her back just to tell one of my parents. Well that worked out because my parents never did anything but when I hit her, it was whole differ story. I never thought that was fair and I would cry because of that. Even though that was in my younger days, it still sometimes creeps back up.

Ahhhh first crush...

My first crush.... ahhh way too long ago. Chris's first crush was Paula Whitson and he always tried and wanted to be seen and around her or with her. He wanted to be with her and have her as his girlfriend. He would think that he was about to show off in front of her but then something would happen.
I think my first crush happened in second grade. There was this boy that I thought was super cute. But like I said we were in second grade and neither of us had a cell phone and its not like we wanted one. We hung out every day at school and played togeher at recess. Each day felt like we were getting closer and closer together. Well we didnt really know what it meant to be boyfriend/girlfriend but if we did, thats what would of happened. We didn't know the meaning of love we were just learning how to write in cursive and learning new words everyday but love never crossed my mind. As I think about my second grade year with him, I really can only remember me and him at recess behind this castle/tower on the playground. We just talked and laughed. Being a child seemed so easy.

Hmmm... Childhood Temper Times :(

I don't really have a big temper, I don't usually start throwing things but I do try to break or stretch something. But I do get an attitude really quickly. My attitude usually comes from my parents and my sister, my brother and I are really cool. When I was younger, when I got really mad I would charge to my room and slam the door. I would try and find something to break, like a necklace or a bracelet. It could be an object that I don't care anything about or something very special. When I got really mad, I didn't think about my actions and the consequences of it until I calmed down. Which was a bad habit because I would get in trouble even more and then after I settled down would be like, that was my special necklace that I broke.
There was this time when I had this Mickey Mouse doll that I loved very much. Well my sister and I got into a fight, I can't remember why. This happened a while back. But she went outside and started throwing it everywhere. In the grass, dirt, concrete everywhere. I got so mad, I then went to get my sisters zebra stuffed animal. I decided to get that becuase zebras are my sister favorite animal. If she wanted to mess with my stuff, then it was only fair if we got even and I got her things. Well when I did get her zebra, my mom stopped me before I could do anything else. She made me give it back to my sister and my sister gave mine back to me. I got really mad and had an attitude. I went to my room and slammed the door. Once I did slam  the door my dad got onto me about it. "We don't slam doors in this house" I got even angrier. So I went and laid down in my bed for a moment, and thought of what I could do to my sister. I decided that I was going to go into my sister's room and mess it up. Knock every thing down, steal some of her things and leave. I got out of my bed and actually did do it. But my sister came in on me and started crying really loud, so my mom came in. She got so so so mad at me, she sent me to my room. Overall I was satisfied with what I had done but there were also the consequences that I didn't recognize. My mom made me clean up all the mess I made and the whole room. I could never win and still can't.

It's MEEE Again with the Reflection & Preview

I liked my blog grade but I think I could of done better. I was very organized and focused on my blogs. The content of my blogs were also good. All my pictures, music and paragraphs provided in-depth explanation of my book. I had great examples and spoke to the audience. I had very few grammar and spelling mistakes but I need to watch my sentence structure. In my second quarter blog I will be sure to watch my sentence structure and continue to do well and better than my first quater blog.
Blogging was not really my thing but it was fun blogging on the book I read in first quarter. "Leaving Paradise" was a really good book to blog on, I'm glad I chose it. The blog prompts that we had to do were really easy and I understood how to do them. So its not like I'm looking foward to doing my second quarter blog or anything because I don't know the plot of the book I'm blogging on. But I will try to have a positive attitude toward blogging and the project were doing.

The beginning of The King of the Mild Frontier started off really good. I could understand the outline of the story. I learned that Chris had a very bad anger problem and his mom always took him to the doctor but they really couldn't do anything about it. He also was a bawl baby, he cried over everything that didnt go his way. He has an older brother who gets him in trouble all the time when his parents are gone. His brother John  babysits him all the time. He also has to a sister that is four years old. I think later in the story, John is finally gone get in trouble for all the things he has done to Chris.

Five Literary Elements(:

Setting: The place where the story takes place. My story takes place in a small town.

Theme: The theme is the lesson learned in the story. The theme in my story is sometimes the person you hate most ends up being the person you care for the most. Like Caleb and Maggie hated each other but towards the end they began to like each other and bond together.

Dynamic character: A dynamic character is a character that changes throughout the story. Maggie and Caleb change a lot throughout the story. At first Maggie was really sad because she was going through a lot ever since Caleb hit her by the car. She had no friends, everyone talked about her because she still walked with a limp. She still couldn't forgive Caleb for what he did. But she ended up forgiving Caleb and began to get happy. But something emotional happened at the end of the story. Caleb still had some emotional problems but he didn't show it. He acted the same while with his friends and acted like nothing happened. Leah is Caleb's sister and she was Maggie's bestfriend. But after the accident she wasnt anymore but at the end of the story they began to be friends again.

Climax: The point of the highest tension/suspense. The climax in my story was when Caleb and Maggie began to have contact with each other. They worked at the same place for the same person and began to like each other.

Tone: The tone is about the authors attitude toward the story. The authors attitude toward "Leaving Paradise" was emotional. At the begining it was sad becuase Caleb hit Maggie by the car and she was in therapy and he was in jail. But as the story went on it kept changing from sad to happy.

Comments:)

These are my comments I left:

Hey Amarri!!!! This is your little sister. That book sounds really interesting, I think I read a few pages of it when you gave it to me to read. That one day when I needed a book for English after I finished mine. Just the few pages I read was interesting. But your description of your book is very great! I need to finish reading the book.

Hey Kaja! I loved all your pictures, they all go well with your book. I know that because I'm reading the same book. I especially love the picture where it has a reflection thats says "What if" and also the one where it has a heart around love never fails. Those are really good pictures. I hope you enjoyed or are enjoying your book! Bye.

Hey Sommer!! Very good description of your book. I really want to read that book because my book was the first one of the series. It sounds very interesting and I want to find out what happens to Maggie and Caleb while on the trip. Can't wait to read it. Also you should think about reading Leaving Paradise, if you haven't already, its a really good book. But anyway  Great job!

Hey Kenzie! I recently watched the movie to your book. I thought it was really good. If you haven't seen the movie, you should. I liked that you gave a really good description on your book, so people reading this can have a good thought on what they are about to read and whats happening. I need to read this book soon! Bye.

Hey Iman! Your book sounds interesting. Also here are the answers that you asked towards my book. Yes Maggie had lots of friends before her accident. It was mainly her leg that got hurt, she had a few scratches though. No, Maggie was not the driver, she was the one that got ran over by the driver. But anyways good job!

Recording

http://www.classicalconnect.com/music/4879
The recording I picked is Ballade, from Romantic Pieces, Op. 115 by the composer Jean Sibelius. With Shirley Trissell on the piano and Emma Steele playing the violin. I really liked this recording. I picked it because I thought it went well with my story. At the beginning of the song, the volume would get all high then back down. It keeps doing that throughout the song. Thats pretty much how my story went too. After the accident, Maggie could never forgive Caleb for running over her that night.
But when Caleb got out of jail and began going to the same school as Maggie and when they began working at the same house together. They began to bond  but when Maggie found out that Caleb was still messing with his ex girlfriend, they kind of split apart again. But its like they could never be apart because they would just get back together again. The song is kind of slow and seems sad but mixed with a little happiness. "Leaving Paradise" is that kind of story, there are moments of exciting, happiness, hopeful and then of depressing, sad, and angry. But thats what makes it a really good story, all of the emotions that each character has.

Leaving Paradise

Hey, my name is Atley Green. I go to CCHS and I'm in 9th grade. I'm reading Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles.

I chose my book because just by looking and reading the back of it, I felt like it was a good book to read. Its a really good book. So far I've read about this boy named Caleb and he has been in jail for a year for drinking and driving and he accidentally hit this girl named Maggie. Well Maggie survived but her leg was badly injured. So after he has served him time in jail he has a chance to get out and he does. He goes to the same school as Maggie and has already came back to normal with his friends. Maggie however has no friends because of the accident. Inside they both feel bad about what happened and Maggie still cant forgive
Caleb. So I'm ready to see what happens next.
